The basic comparison

A transit compares a planet’s position at a selected time with a natal planet or angle. A current sky aspect, by contrast, compares two current positions. A general sky dashboard is not automatically a personalized transit report.

Exactness and duration

An aspect becomes exact at a particular angular separation. The period considered relevant depends on the chosen orb and the planet’s speed. A slow outer-planet transit can remain near an angle much longer than a lunar transit.

Repeated contacts

Apparent retrograde motion can cause a planet to cross the same natal degree several times. Astrologers may interpret these as stages of a theme, but the repeated geometry does not demonstrate a repeated external event.

Prioritize carefully

Start with a small number of close contacts instead of treating every possible angle as equally meaningful. Note the natal context and whether the birth time supports the angles being used. More calculations do not automatically create a more accurate interpretation.

Keep agency in the reading

Use transit symbolism to frame reflection or planning questions, not to guarantee an outcome. Real circumstances, choices, and other people’s actions remain essential. An alarming transit interpretation should not override evidence or qualified advice.
