The angle and its symbolism

A conjunction brings two symbols into close association. The interpretation depends on which bodies are involved: a Sun–Mercury conjunction is not equivalent to a Mars–Saturn conjunction. Calling every conjunction fortunate or difficult overlooks that context.

A useful interpretation

Look for how the two functions blend, reinforce, or compete. A close conjunction can make them hard to separate in interpretation. Ask how both needs can be named clearly before assuming that one must dominate.

Orbs and context

An orb is the allowed difference from the exact angle. Astrologers use different limits for natal charts, transits, and particular planets. A label should always be accompanied by the measured orb and the stated method; there is no single universally accepted cutoff.
